Newton Lamson is an Executive Vice President and a partner in the Brookings Management Group and has been President of Donley Communications Corporation, a New York City-based marketing support and communications firm, since 1980. Under Mr. Lamson’s leadership, Donley has become one of the premier agencies serving financial service and professional service organizations. Recognized primarily for its expertise in positioning complex financial issues and product offerings with the nation’s major business media, Donley’s clients have included leading investment firms, institutional investment managers, management consulting firms, mutual fund companies, financial advisors, broker/dealers, law firms, and data management/information technology companies linked to the securities industry. Donley also has extensive experience in providing communications and marketing counsel to actuarial, insurance, accounting, legal, management consulting, executive search, health care, and other professional service organizations.
Prior to joining Donley, Mr. Lamson was a freelance writer whose articles on the securities and banking industry appeared regularly in the Sunday financial section of The New York Times and other national publications. He also served as an associate editor of Forbes Magazine, night news editor of the Washington Post, and news editor of The International Herald Tribune in Paris. He helped found and was editor of MBA Magazine. He has degrees from Princeton and the Sorbonne and attended the Columbia University School of Business.
