Joseph Hamm is the Chief Executive Officer of Direct Foreign Exchange Inc. Prior to this he was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Brookings Management Group, Inc. (BMG), a consulting organization focused on creating revenue growth and profit enhancement opportunities for the financial service industry. Mr Hamm has been instrumental in establishing Direct Foreign Exchange in the United States, directing both product refinement efforts and its introduction to the U.S. banking community.
Mr. Hamm has extensive experience in developing and managing financial service products and global securities operations within the banking, brokerage, and investment management industries. His expertise includes thorough knowledge of global securities processing, clearance and custody; demonstrated line management ability; budget and project management, pricing and control; systems analysis and workflow design; product and market expansion; and operations procedures and direction.
Mr. Hamm’s experience includes seven years as a Vice President, Product Manager in CITIBANK, N.A.’s World Wide Securities Services, where he was responsible for the development and profitability of providing “in country” and “cross border” trade execution and securities settlement services to the top tier of US broker/dealers in 55 world markets. He also served as Director of Securities Operations/President & COO for American International Group, Inc.’s Broker/Dealer subsidiary, American International Funds Distributor, where his responsibilities included establishing the first centralized securities processing organization for virtually all of AIG’s trading business, to include FX and Securities Lending in the United States, Europe, and the Far East, serving both internal and external investment managers.
Other experience includes a Vice Presidency in the Corporate Trust Division of Security Pacific Trust Company and a Vice Presidency of Securities Operations for BankAmerica Trust Company. Mr. Hamm earned a BS Business Management 1976 at St. Peters College and a Certificate Applied Management Science from the Organizational Dynamics Institute in Boston.
