DFX Foreign Currency Products

DFX offers eight foreign currency products. The products, and the customers for each, are:

Purchase Bank Notes (Currency)

Customers can purchase bank notes for use in over 70 countries, and the DFX system enables clients to view facsimiles of each currency available in a variety of denominations. This product appeals to vacation and business travellers who want convenience. They can order the currency they require and have it delivered to their bank branch prior to their trip. Fees and lines at airport kiosks and ATM's are eliminated.

Buy Back Currency

Through Direct FX, client banks will buy back banknotes from travellers who have currency left over when they return from a trip. All travellers have access to this product, not just those who originally purchased their currency through DFX.

Issue International Wire Transfers

Customers can wire funds to over 100 countries. This product is primarily directed to business customers, but can also be used by individuals. Businesses that will benefit from this service are SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) such as manufacturing companies, importers/exporters, antique firms, and international law firms. SMEs often represent the core commercial base of regional and community banks.

Receive International Wire Transfers

Customers can receive payments/funds in foreign currencies. DFX will arrange for these payments to be converted into dollars and will then remit the funds to the customer's bank account.

Purchase Foreign Currency Drafts (Checks)

Customers can purchase a foreign currency draft/check for use in over 70 countries. This product is valuable to businesses and individuals needing to make payments by check in a foreign country or needing to send someone, such as a student studying abroad, funds denominated in a foreign currency.

Buy Back Foreign Currency Drafts (Checks)

Customers can submit foreign currency drafts to the bank for Buy Back by the vendor.

Purchase International Travellers’ checks

Customers can purchase foreign currency denominated American Express travellers’ checks for use in 13 countries. Like bank notes, this product appeals to vacation and business travellers who want convenience.

Buy Back Travellers Check

Client banks through DFX will buy back all unused international travellers’ checks. This product is not solely limited to American Express travellers’ checks. DFX vendors will purchase any valid international traveller’s check.
